Welcome to part two of Healing Scriptures. The first article is available at revivalfire.ca/healing-scriptures/. There are far too many amazing Scriptures to limit ourselves to just one article, so here is part two. Ultimately, these Scriptures do not only apply to physical healing, but to any area of life that you may be struggling with. As it turns out, in the Bible, the word for “healing” and “salvation” are one and the same. And when God heals you, his goal is not just to affect your physical state of being, but your emotional, mental, and spiritual state, as well. We know this from 3 John 2, which reads:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

In other words, John was saying that to the extent that this man (Gaius, whom he was writing) would do well in his soul, that he should also prosper and be in good health. Since John knew the Lord well, and was writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, we know this is God’s will for you and I, as well. There are also many passages on stewardship and responsibility. Therefore, when God entrusts something to us, such as health, talents, prosperity, or gifts, we are required to be faithful in return. We may have failed, but God longs to forgive us, so that we can do better and demonstrate how kind he is. Even as Paul wrote,

“where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly” (see Romans 5:20).

We are not to sin so that God’s grace may abound (see Romans 6:1-18). On the other hand, God is still greater than our sin, and is able and willing to make all grace abound to us, despite our circumstances. Do you believe this? Luke 12:32, 1 John 1:9, Romans 8:1,28, Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 11:28-30 (quoted below), and many more, all tell us that it is true! Read and appropriate the following verses and strengthen your faith! God really is that good!

More Healing Scriptures

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Jesus went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them, and healed their sick. (Matthew 14:14)

Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.” (Matthew 18:18-20)

Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith, and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done. (Matthew 21:21)

He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts? (Luke 24:38)

Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31)

Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41)

Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your transgressions. (Mark 11:24-26)

His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him. So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you do not each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds. (Matthew 18:34-35)

All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby. (Hebrews 12:11)

Therefore lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. (Hebrews 12:12-13)

These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)

Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free. (Luke 6:36-37)

Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. (Luke 10:19)

Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.” (Luke 18:42)

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.” (John 5:14)

It is the spirit who gives life … The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life. (John 6:63)

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God, and does his will, he listens to him. (John 9:31)

If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. (Psalm 66:18)

The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. (John 10:10)

Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? (Hebrews 12:9)

[Abraham] grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform. (Romans 4:19-21)

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus; for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10)

Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)

Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8)

If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are. (1 Corinthians 3:17)

For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body. For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. For if we discerned ourselves, we wouldn’t be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:29-31)

For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us. (2 Corinthians 1:20)

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,” that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14)

“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with a promise: “that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:2-3)

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (Ephesians 6:10-17)

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)

For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. The things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me: do these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)

For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7)

For God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

For God’s Kingdom is not in word, but in power. (1 Corinthians 4:20)

let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)

Therefore do not throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. (Hebrews 10:35)

Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

By faith, even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised. (Hebrews 11:11)

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. (1 John 5:4)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

For I, Yahweh, do not change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6)

It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion does not fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40:2)

For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed; Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones; So that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food. His flesh is so consumed away, that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out. Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers. “If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him; then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’ His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth. He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness. He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me. He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life shall see the light.’ “Behold, God does all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man, to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living. (Job 33:14-30)

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)

I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he asks for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? (Luke 11:8-13)

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17)

Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:7-8)

Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (James 5:14-15)

who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings. (1 Peter 5:7-9)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have boldness toward God; and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. (1 John 3:21-22)

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. (1 John 5:4)

This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. (1 John 5:14-15)

They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death. (Revelation 12:11)
